Beach Walk Cottage
Information About Beach Walk Cottage and Great Guana Cay

Beach Walk Cottage is beautifully landscaped with hibiscus, bougainvillea,
Queen Emma Lilies and Manila, Coconut and Ceiling Wax Palms. There’s
a screened in porch and a wonderful deck for your morning coffee,
evening cocktails, or a barbecue. This is the perfect place to meet new
friends too! You’ll be amazed at how nice everyone is on Guana.

Great Guana Cay has some of the most beautiful beaches in all of the
Bahamas. Beach Walk Cottage is very close to one of the best! We’re a 2
minute walk to the beach and if you get thirsty, Nippers is another 2 or 3
minutes from there! If it’s low tide you should be able to walk miles on the
white, sandy beach, sometimes without seeing another person! There’s
also some great snorkeling just off the beach so make sure you bring
your gear (you can rent it at Dive Guana too).
Wonderful restaurants, from the super casual to upscale, are
nearby. Nippers and Grabbers are a 5 minute walk away. Nippers
sits on the bluff above the turquoise ocean and is world famous
for their Sunday Pig Roast. Grabbers is in a coconut palm grove
on the Sea of Abaco side. It's a wonderful place to sip a cocktail
while watching the sunset. Both have freshwater pools for guests
to enjoy. A very short walk from the cottage is Sea Shore Villas
aka Pirate’s Cove. The hosts Jerry & Chorene cook yummy home
cooked meals. The fresh Bahamian breads at The Art Cafe are
amazing. Upscale dining is available at Orchid Bay. If you're
planning on cooking in, visit Milo at his corner stand for fresh
fruits and vegetables.

If you want to explore and don’t have a boat, a trip with Troy at
Dive Guana is a must! If you do have a boat, make sure to head
up to Spoil Bank Cay (aka Shell Island) for some beachcombing,
there are SO many shells. If the weather permits and you are an
experienced boater, make sure to go through the cut to the north
and stop at the Atlantic beach. You will be amazed at how
gorgeous the water is! Another fun day on the boat would be a
trip to Hopetown on Elbow Cay to tour the lighthouse and
museum, have some lunch and then spend the afternoon at
Tahiti Beach. If you’re adventurous, drive the boat down to North
Pelican Cay or the beach at Tilloo Bank and then have drinks
and some smoked fish dip at Cracker P’s on Lubbers. Day sails
are available with Cruise Abaco. They will even pick you up on
Guana. There are so many things to do!
If you’re into fishing, you’ll love Abaco. There's always
something to catch. Inside the sea of abaco; bonefish, snapper,
and triggerfish. Just offshore, there's marlin, tuna, wahoo, and
dolphinfish, depending on the season.  Be sure to listen to The
Cruisers Net at 8:15 each the morning on VHF channel 68 for
real time weather and condition reports. Chances are you'll be
‘home’ by noon with a nice sized fish. There are many good
charter captains to take you out for the day as well.

Communications in the Abacos is primarily by Marine VHF
radio, the cottage has one. No worries, it's easy to use. Some
carriers, like AT&T, provide cell phone coverage. It's expensive
though. Nippers has a free long distance phone, if you need to
call the states. WIFI internet access is available at The Pirate's
Cove (the best and closest), Nippers, and Grabbers.

The Abaco Forum is a great way to meet other like minded
Abacoholics and learn a lot about the islands. If you'll be on the
water, a  Dodge Abaco Cruising Guide is a must with charts,
tides, waypoints, and other essential information.

We’re confident that you will love our little spot in paradise and
we’ll do our best to make your trip the best ever!
